Afternoons in the Park

Most days, we spend the late afternoon in the park. Aydin loves to watch the kids running around. On this day, three young boys serenaded us with Beatles tunes. I was impressed by their ability to sing, "Help!", "Ticket to Ride," and "Here Comes the Sun." They had a notebook of lyrics and everything! Don't be fooled by this picture -- the park is always teeming with kids! Somehow I managed to capture this shot moments before a posse of about 6 nannies and their toddlers showed up to sit on the benches behind us. I like the park because it's one of the few with a nice flat expanse for throwing down our quilt and hanging out for a while. Aydin loves to feel the grass (you got me, it's actually astroturf... only in NY) between her fingers. She has become quite adept at going from a sitting position to her tummy. No sign of crawling yet, but we can tell she's anxious to move around independently!

Aydin is now an old hat at cruising in her face-forward stroller. The only times she gets nervous are when we're in the checkout line at the grocery store; this little gal likes to be on the move! She really likes to ride with her feet resting on the handlebars!

Meredith,
This blog is terrific!! Please know that I check it so often to see if there is a new posting, even if I don't comment. It's a joy to read, and it will be wonderful for you (and Aydin) to read in later years. Please, please post to it regularly!!!!
Love,
Mom
