Hi there,
So Aydin got her first taste of a stomach virus this Saturday. We started the day off with our usual morning nursing session, all cozied up in bed together. Imagine our surprise when she proceeded to puke all over me and our sheets. We weren't sure it was a bug until the second puke occurred (this time in the car, also all over me, in the IKEA parking lot), followed by some light diahhrea. Luckily it hasn't been too bad, overall; if anything, it has given her an opportunity to finally catch up on her sleep. We're keeping a close watch, though, making sure she stays hydrated, and generally just grateful that we all didn't fall victim to the virus. Of course we're still keeping our fingers crossed. This virus has been spreading like wildfire all over the 'hood, it seems.
In other news, it appears that Aydin has finally come around to this whole walking thing. Saturday, while hanging at home with Baba while Mom was out doing a little retail therapy (disclaimer: nothing too glamorous... I bought socks for Aydin and a new trash can) Aydin decided to walk all over the place (in between bouts of squirty poos, that it). Ozan asked me when I got home if Aydin usually spent an hour or so walking unassisted or unsupported and I went, "WHAT?!?!" We spent about 45 minutes last night just squealing as she walked back and forth between Ozan and me, getting big hugs each time when she reached us. She even picked up the pace a little each time as she approached one of us. It was great fun — and we've got video footage to come for your viewing pleasure!
