Vaccination Woes

Ah, my dear sweet one,

Yesterday was a tough day. Around 11 am the effects of the vaccinations kicked in and you transformed into another baby. It was a glimpse it What Life Would Have Been Like If You Were Colicky. Luckily, you weren't entirely inconsolable. You wanted to be held a lot, even when you were sleeping. Mom was happy to oblige. I just held you tight all afternoon, rocking you for hours while you whimpered into my shoulder. If I put you down for just a moment, you cried like there was no tomorrow. I have never seen you so upset. It was heartbreaking to see! You were only running a mild fever but it clearly gave you quite a wallop. I was very happy when the fever lifted around 8pm and you returned to your old, cheerful self. That coincided quite nicely with dad's coming home from work (lucky him!). We were relieved that you were feeling better. It made Dad's night to see you cooing and smiling once again (Miles of Smiles!). He rocked you to sleep around 9:30 and you slept till 1:30am, then again till around 5:30am. You're sleeping now -- it's around 8am. I think I'm going to take a quick shower before the day begins.
